This spring school provides lectures and practicums in biotechnology and information engineering which will enable participants to contribute to dietary improvements among people in their countries.<\/p>\n<p>Using biotechnology, participants will analyze and evaluate foodstuff nutrient content, bioavailability and absorption potential. Using information engineering, they will construct agricultural management systems. Additionally, participants will visit some of Japan\u2019s most advanced companies in these fields, experience Japanese traditional culture and interact with Japanese students.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<strong>Costs<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Students are exempted from paying program fees, but each participant is responsible for meals and personal purchases.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<strong>Financial Assistance<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<strong>JST Sakura Science Program Fund <\/strong>will cover the following items for those who meet the requirements below.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0-international flights (air tickets will be provided by KIT. Participants are required to take the flights designated by KIT. )<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0-airport transportation to and from KIT (arranged by KIT)<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0-accommodation fees (granted in JPY to students upon their arrival at KIT. )<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0-travel insurance<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0To receive the financial assistance, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Applicants must be high-achieving students in their home institutions with a GPA of 2.3 points or more in the previous year to receive the above fund.
